Paddleboarding Lesson at Triangle Glides
COME AND LEARN TO PADDLEBOARD! Stand up paddling provides an incredible full body workout that’ll tone your core muscles and strengthen and tone your arms and legs. As you gently shift your weight on the board, and pull the blade through the water, you’ll feel a freedom of movement that’s addicting.
Stand up paddleboarding, or SUP, is a fun sport that’s easy to learn and offers a great core workout. It got its start in 1960s Hawaii with the beach boys of Waikiki. Using outrigger paddles, they’d paddle their long surfboards out to take pictures of tourists learning to surf. In recent years, SUP has made a huge comeback and is now the fastest-growing watersport in the world.
Our introductory class will provide the essential skills needed to get started you in this exciting recreational sport. SUP is easy to learn, fun, and offers an effective way to tone your body!
In our 90-minute introductory class, our instructors will teach you:
- How to get on and off your board
- Proper paddling techniques
- Proper stance for maximum stability
- Essential turning techniques
TRIANGLE GLIDES PROVIDE: Professional instruction, a top-quality SUP board that’s extra-wide for extra stability (perfect for beginners), a height-adjustable paddle, and a required PFD (personal flotation device).
YOU BRING: Bottle of water, beach towel, and slip-on sandals (they’ll get wet). It is recommended that you also wear sunblock, sunglasses (FYI-they could fall off) and a hat (such as a baseball cap). Dress in comfortable attire suitable for a water activity, such as shorts or trunks and a t-shirt. Feel free to wear a bathing suit if you’d like, though it’s not required.
